Praying for terrorists

PRAYING FOR ISIL (ISIS), BOKO HARAM, AL-QAEDA, TALIBAN, AL-SHABAAB,

Woe to you ISIS, Boko Haram, al-Qaeda, Taliban, al-Shabaab, for you are killing those that are powerless and mercilessly beheading the innocent ones, raping our women and torturing the defenceless people. Arise, LORD! Lift up Your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless (Ps. 10:12). Show no mercy to those that are merciless. Arise, O LORD, in your anger; rise up against the rage of these terrorist groups. Awake, Almighty God; decree justice. Let the trouble they cause recoils on them and their violence come down on their own heads (Ps. 7:6,16).

Declare these terrorist groups guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins, for they rebelled against You, LORD. But let all of us who take refuge in You be glad; let us ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over us, that those who love Your Name may rejoice in You (Ps.5:10-11).

Arise, LORD, do not let these terrorist groups triumph; let them be judged in Your presence. Strike them with terror, LORD; so that the nations will know they are only mortals (Ps.9:19-20). O God, break the arms of these wicked terrorists in our midst; call these evildoers to account for their wickedness. . . You, LORD, hear the desire of the afflicted . . . listen to their cry, defend the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror (Ps.10:15,17,18).

Rise up, LORD, confront these terrorist groups, bring them down; with Your sword rescue us from their wickedness. By Your hand save us from such people, LORD. . . (Ps.17:13,14a).

To You, O LORD, I call; do not turn a deaf ear to me. Hear my cry for mercy as I call to You for help, as I lift up my hands toward Your Most Holy Place.  Repay these terrorists for their deeds and for their evil work; repay them for what their hands have done and bring back on them what they deserve (Ps.28:1,2,4).

In You, O LORD, we have taken refuge; let these wicked terrorists be put to shame and be silent in the realm of the dead. Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt they murder, behead, rape women and cause despicable deprivations to those who are quiet in the land and speak arrogantly against the righteous (Ps. 31:1a,17b,18).

ALMIGHTY GOD, BRING THESE TERRORISTS TO EVERLASTING RUIN; SNATCH THEM UP AND PLUCK THEM FROM THEIR TENTS; UPROOT THEM FROM THE LAND OF THE LIVING TO THE GLORY OF YOUR HOLY NAME. THE RIGHTEOUS WILL SEE AND FEAR (Ps.52:5,6b).

Let evil recoil on these terrorists for they slander Your Holy Name; in Your faithfulness destroy them (Ps.54:5).  LORD, confuse these wicked people, confound their words. . . Let death take them by surprise; let them go down alive to the realm of the dead, for evil finds lodging among them (Ps.55:9,15). Because of their wickedness do not let them escape; in Your anger, God, bring these terrorist groups down (Ps.56:7).  Break the teeth in their mouths, O God; LORD, tear out the fangs of these lions! Let them vanish like water that flows away; when they draw the bow, let their arrows fall short. May they be like a slug that melts away as it moves along, like a stillborn child that never sees the sun. Let them be swept away. The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they dip their feet in the blood of the wicked. Then people will say, “Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth” (Ps.58:6-11).

In Your might, O LORD, uproot these terrorists in our midst and bring them down. For the sins of their mouths, for the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride. For the curses and lies they utter, consume them in Your wrath, consume them till they are no more. Then it will be known to the ends of the earth that God rules over Jacob (Ps.59:11b-13). May you blow them away like smoke—as wax melts before the fire, may the wicked perish before God (Ps.68:2).

Make these terrorist groups like tumbleweed, my God, like chaff before the wind. As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze, so pursue them with Your tempest and terrify them with Your storm. Cover their faces with shame, LORD, so that they will seek Your Name. May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace. Let them know that You, whose Name is the LORD—that You alone are the Most High over all the earth (Ps.83:13-18).

Do not grant these wicked and devilish groups their desires, LORD; do not let their plans succeed. . . . may the mischief of their lips engulf them. May burning coals fall on them; may they be thrown into the fire, into miry pits, never to rise up again. May slanderers not be established in the lands; may disaster hunt down these violent, satanic groups.  O LORD, secure justice for the poor and uphold the cause of the needy (Ps.140:8, 9b-12).

Our eyes are fixed on You, Sovereign LORD; in You we take refuge—do not give us over to death. KEEP US SAFE FROM THE TRAPS SET BY EVILDOERS, FROM THE SNARES THEY HAVE LAID FOR US. LET THE WICKED FALL INTO THEIR OWN NETS, WHILE WE PASS BY IN SAFETY (Ps.141:8-10). For Your name’s sake, LORD, preserve our lives; in Your righteousness bring us out of trouble. In Your unfailing love, silence our enemies; destroy all terrorist groups ( Ps.143:11-12).

Let Your Kingdom come, O LORD; Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. O God, shield, protect, guard, rescue us against the onslaughts (fiery darts) of ISIS, BOKO HARAM, AL-QAEDA, TALIBAN, AL-SHABAAB and other devilish groups.  In the Name of JESUS, my Lord, I pray; for, “Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O LORD, and You exalt Yourself as head over all” (1 Chronicles 29:11-13).  Almighty God, may my prayer be set before You like incense and let it be a sweet, sweet aroma in Your presence, O LORD. Amen
